Honors Composition

The Arkansas State Honors Program offers outstanding students special opportunities to develop their writing and thinking abilities.  Honors classes are usually small and allow free and open discussion in an informal, stimulating atmosphere, but they do not necessarily involve more work or more rigorous grading than regular sections.

Entering freshmen with an ACT score of 24 or a high school GPA of 3.5 are eligible to enroll in freshman honors courses.  The program usually offers several sections of Honors Composition each semester.  They are designated by an ENH prefix (i.e., EN-H 1003, EN-H 1013).
