Common Core Conference 2012 On Friday, October 26, 2012 Teacher Education welcomed 146 area teachers and administrators to the first Teacher Education Common Core Conference. CSI Project Has Begun Recruiting Teachers and Students for Second Year of Grant Project Scientific inquiry and practical learning that closely involves teachers and students are central to an innovative program at Arkansas State University.
Rural STEM Education Center Outreach and Inservice Teacher Education This winter, science teachers from around NE Arkansas were implementing Project-based Learning (PBL) modules. Dr. Greg Meeks to Return to Classroom Dr. Greg Meeks has indicated he will step down as Associate Dean effective June 30, 2013. He began his tenure as Associate Dean under the leadership of Dr. Don Maness in January of 2009. During the 2011-2012 academic year he served as the Interim Dean of the college. Dr. Natalie Johnson-Leslie named Peer Reviewer The U.S. Department of Education (ED) was pleased to invite Dr. Natalie Johnson-Leslie to serve as a peer reviewer for the Race to the Top - District (RTT-D) grant competition. She was selected from a pool of over 750 applicants. European History of Psychology Course and TourThe Department of Psychology & Counseling will offer a European History of Psychology Course and Tour. Dr. Amy R. Pearce Named External Evaluator Dr. Amy R. Pearce, Associate Professor of Psychology, was the external evaluator on Connecting the Dots: Content, Research, and Practice in the Primary Grades, a Math and Science Partnership grant with Jonesboro Public Schools, Blessed Sacrament School and Williams Baptist College. The evaluation was featured in the 2013 publication of the United States Department of Education PP 2010 performance report for being one of only a few projects to meet the rigorous national evaluation standards.
