Under Dr. Meeks' leadership as Associate Dean, he successfully saw all professional education programs, which lead to licensure to be nationally or state recognized, as well as the Professional Education Unit being reaccredited through the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. Under his leadership, the professional education governance system was overhauled. He was also responsible for bringing the Education Renewal Zone to ASU and he and Dr. Maness were responsible for securing a grant from the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation to establish the College Preparatory Academy for the Delta. Dr. Meeks returns to the Department of Teacher Education as Associate Professor of middle level education.
